CAN I BRING MY FAMILY TO LIVE WITH ME IN BELGIUM?

PUBLISHED ON 17/05/2023

WEBINAR | THURSDAY 22 JUNE 2023, 12:00 - 13:30

Whether you have been in Belgium for years, or you are still in the process of moving over, you might be wondering whether your family members can join you. It is possible, but if your loved ones are UK citizens living back in the UK, Brexit means the end of their right to move to Belgium whenever they wish. If they cannot access a residence or work permit themselves, you will need to apply for family reunification.

It can be a challenge to understand and follow the rules on family reunification in Belgium, as they differ depending on the nationality or residence status of the sponsoring family member and on the nature of the family relationship. Especially for relatives outside the nuclear family, such as elderly parents or siblings, the rules are complex and difficult to apply.

In this webinar, our legal experts will present an overview of these regulations and provide some theoretical background. We will also explore some case studies so you can gain a more practical perspective on these complicated processes. After the brief presentation, we will open a Q+A and address questions from the audience.
